My focus: Family Law. I am certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization as a specialist in Family Law and skilled in all areas of family law, including divorces, pre-marital agreements, post-marital agreements, cohabitation agreements, business valuations, property characterization, spousal support, child support, custody, settlement negotiation, and mediation. I have extensive experience in high-value asset dissolution..

Number of cases I have tried: I have tried in excess of 25 jury trials and over 100 bench trials.

Education: DePauw University, B.A.; Indiana University, J.D.

How I got into law: I always knew I would go to law school and become an attorney. I was very influenced by a close family friend who was a Judge in my community. My focus had changed, but I have fond memories of the legal career path I first considered. As an undergrad in Manhattan, I was participating in an off-campus semester with NBC Special Productions, Rockefeller Center. I worked with an entertainment law attorney at NBC, and became very interested in the legal work associated with entertainment law. During law school I law clerked with a well known entertainment agency, and earned top paper in entertainment law. However, the excitement of litigation called, and I focused on trial work early in my career, including a stellar career as a prosecuting attorney. I find this litigation experience invaluable in guiding clients through family law cases.

Guiding principle: Take care of people. Protect them. Treat them with respect.

How winning a case makes me feel: I love to win. I am such a competitor. When you reach a jury or a judge with skilled presentation of fact and law, you know you have done a good job, and obtaining the verdict in your client’s favor is a great reward.

When I’m not working, you’ll find me: I’ll be enjoying the great outdoors, usually with my two awesome boys. We mountain bike, surf, ski, stand-up paddleboard, fish, run, hike and take a great deal of enjoyment from our beautiful state. I also am an active volunteer in my children’s school, my children’s Boy Scout Troop, and various community organizations.

Why clients like me: I genuinely care about my clients, I use my skills to take care of my clients and I strive to protect their rights.
